
Suitcase Interactive was asked by Shaw Communications to design a website that would tie into an ongoing Shaw television campaign called the Snailskis. The TV ads served as inspiration for the creation of a unique and interactive online environment that featured the Snailkis characters in their home. Users are able to explore the home, entertained while simultaneously educated about the Shaw brand.

To synchronize online creative with a TV commercial isn’t typically too difficult, however, with the Snailskis campaign there were some unique challenges. Since the computer generated characters of the TV spots were themselves the focal point of the campaign, simply mimicking them in a 2D environment online lacked the personality and distinct look of the ads.

Suitcase Interactive was able to bring the online aspect of the campaign to the level of the TV spots by imagining a virtual home for the Snailskis characters and creating an immersive environment for online viewers to navigate through. Their home was given a look and feel that tied in closely to that of the TV ads, ensuring brand consistency, and a number of interactive elements were built in to engage users while communicating key Shaw messaging.
